Most people are familiar with capitalization, but here's a refresher with some obscure items that you might not be aware of.
Proper Nouns
All proper nouns should be capitalized. How do you know if a noun is proper? Ask yourself if that noun is merely a label that names the thing or if it is its special name. A good example I can give you is dad:
My dad likes to play video games with my brother and me. (Dad in this instance is the label for a particular person)
On weekend, Dad likes to play video games with my brother and me. (Dad in this case is being used as a name -- a child calls his father Dad)
Titles with Proper Nouns
When a title is part of a proper name, capitalize it.
